What is the point of highways,
If not to lose the past,
Let loose the demons and horsepower,
Give back in speed whatever weight you got.
No dreams of youth can last
A lifetime of compromise is glittering behind,
Like bones and rust,
The memory of some other kind,
The Driver and his Road to find.
